We are Nordic skiers who return every year to the Birkebeiner. Our club, founded by John Kotar and Dave Balsiger in 1992, works with the ABSF to support Birkie activities, improve the Birkie trail, support youth skiing, and promote a healthy lifestyle and climate.  Membership in the Birchleggings Club (BLC) is available to:

• Birchleggers: Skiers who have completed 20 or more American Birkebeiners

• Skiløpers-Tjue: Skiers who have completed 20 or more Kortelopets

• Combi Skiers: Skiers who have completed a combination of the two races that totals 20 or more finishes.

Korte & Combi skiers please note: your future Kortelopet registration status and bib assignments will continue as you have received up to the present, but you will now be able to join and participate in all Birchleggings Club events (including the annual awards breakfast), be recognized as a veteran skier, participate in our efforts to support the Birkie and the Birkie trail, and have a strong voice in the future of the American Birkebeiner.
