Race Creation
RunSignup’s race creation wizard streamlines the process of setting up a new race by highlighting the specifics necessary to getting your registration underway. This allows you to customize your race more thoroughly at your own pace, and doesn’t waste your time with features that don’t pertain to your race.
To begin creating a race, go to the homepage of RunSignUp (https://runsignup.com) and click on “Create a Race” or go directly here https://runsignup.com/Race/New.
Creating a New Race
The first step in creating a new race is setting up the “Basic Info”. After you have completed this portion of the race wizard, then you will be able to move from step to step at random, saving changes as you go.
On Step 7, we have added some suggestions settings to turn on for your race. The default is to enable these features when clicking save. If you do not want to enable them, you will uncheck the boxes and click save. These features can be turned on later as well.
Event Insurance:
We introduced a new insurance offering that lowers the starting price to $2.99 – a price that becomes attractive to some participants in most races. And the insurance vendor is offering a revenue share of 20% of the insurance price – a new source of revenue for events. This setting just turns the insurance option on for participants to choose. It has the added benefit of reducing refund requests and customer support as the insurance company takes care of all of that.
Referral Rewards
This is one of our most popular features. It provides an incentive to participants to get their friends and family to sign up for your event. Some events who actively promote this get 10-25% of their participants from this referral source – we all know word of mouth is the best way to grow an event.
Re-Entering the Race Wizard
After creating your race, RunSignup allows Race Director's to re-enter the race wizard. This is done through your Race Dashboard by selecting Race > Race Wizard
The race wizard can always be reentered through the “Race” tab of the race dashboard.
