New Vocations is proud to be the oldest and largest racehorse adoption program in the country, serving more than 600 retired racehorses a year.

Since 1992, New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program has been giving retired racehorses a second chance. We rehabilitate, retrain, and rehome Thoroughbreds and Standardbreds from over 70 racetracks, helping more than 9,000 horses transition from racing to loving homes. Whether they’re too slow for the track, recovering from injuries, or simply need a break from the racing life, we ensure they find caring, qualified adopters.

Operating from facilities in Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Florida, and New York, we’re dedicated to preparing these horses for new careers. As an accredited organization with the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance and Standardbred Transition Alliance, we uphold the highest standards in equine care.
