On Monday, April 28, 2025, my son Billy had his 7th hip surgery at Nationwide Children's Hospital. This time, he had a total hip replacement. We owe so much to NCH and the care he has received since 2013. Although we were not able to ultimately save his hip, his experience contributed to the doctor's wealth of knowledge to help the next Perthes kid. Throughout his journey, including his current recuperation, Billy never stopped smiling and embraced each challenge with a strength that I envy. He continues to be my hero. Running the marathon and fundraising as a Children's Champion has become an annual event, my way of saying "thank you" to the orthopedics department.
I am so excited and honored to participate as a Children's Champion in partnership with the Nationwide Children's Hospital Columbus Marathon &1/2 Marathon in 2025. Now, more than ever, the dollars we raise are critical. So many of us are experiencing challenges like we have never faced in our lifetime and, as you can imagine, Nationwide Children’s Hospital is no exception.
My personal fundraising goal for this program is $1,000. Any contribution you can make is greatly appreciated and will make a difference in the lives of children and families worldwide. Nationwide Children's Hospital is proud to treat patients from 50 states and over 60 countries.
