On May 11, 2025 our team, CHARGE Forward with Harlen, will be participating in the 6th Annual Walk and Roll for CHARGE. Wear your purple and join us at 9:00am at River Ridge Golf Course to Walk and Roll! (**This team will be walking on May 11th**)
Trevor, Harlen's Dad Shares- "Harlen was born with CHARGE Syndrome, a condition that can manifest in various ways for each child. For Harlen, this includes a cleft lip and palate, hearing loss, vision impairment, abnormalities in both the outer and inner ears (which affect his vestibular system), low muscle tone, a high risk of aspiration (necessitating a feeding tube for nutrition, which he still uses today), facial paralysis, and breathing difficulties. Raising a child with special needs can often leave a family feeling isolated, unsure of where to turn. Attending the CHARGE Syndrome Foundation conference, however, made us feel truly at home. It was a comfort to know that we are not alone and to connect with others who understand our journey. The support and camaraderie from these families are invaluable. The CHARGE Syndrome Foundation is dedicated to advancing research, an effort that might otherwise be overlooked. The resources and support they provide are essential for raising awareness within the CHARGE Syndrome and special needs communities. We are deeply grateful for the ongoing efforts to support families like ours and for helping to spread awareness."
Whether you want to walk, run, or take a stroll, the hope is to be active while raising money and awareness for the Foundation. No matter how you participate, the goal will always remain the same: A Better World for People with CHARGE syndrome. Register with our team, or simply join us at 9:00 am for the 5k.
CHARGE syndrome is the leading genetic cause of deaf-blindness. Many individuals with CHARGE syndrome overcome insurmountable challenges to far surpass expectations.
All funds raised will help support individuals with CHARGE and their families through direct assistance, research, and outreach.
