About:

In September 2024 Beth was diagnosed with UPS Sarcoma in her right leg.  Since that time our family has had the mantra....one minute, one hour, one day and we strive every day to give the "Best for Beth".  Her primary treatment was completed just a few months ago at MD Anderson and the grueling nature of what she endured still impacts her.  Thankfully she was fortunate to get both the best care possible quickly and had an amazing support network.  It is our wish that through this race and  its donations we can both raise awareness of this cancer and allow others to benefit from the best care possible to achieve positive outcomes. 

Beth has the most amazing heart and is the kindness and most thoughtful loving person you could imagine.  Her life has been spent supporting and caring for others. Now we must rally around her with love and give her the support, care and energy she needs to continue to make progress against this disease.  

Why We Race:
Sarcoma is a rare cancer and accounts for only 1% of adult cancers but 15-20% of childhood cancers.  This underscores the need for research, funding and awareness.  Each year, the Sarcoma Foundation of America (SFA) raises awareness and funds for much-needed research, through roughly 20 Race for the Cure events across the country. 

Last year was the first year this race was in Austin.  Even though Beth just finished chemotherapy she attended and walked with a great group of family and friends.  It was an amazing event.
