Team Stay Busy Living/Chancho is in honor of Nicholas Cochran.
Nick was light. He had a way of ending up dancing in the crowd or making hilarious jokes in the moments that needed laughter most. He spent his college years in the Pacific Northwest studying Biology at UPS, and loved surfing in Pacifica, hibiscus flowers, and driving his truck down 680 blasting reggae.
One of Nick’s greatest gifts was his ability to build community wherever he went, and that community has only grown stronger since he left us.
Our motto, during Nick’s treatment and in the time since losing him, has been “Stay Busy Living.” It has encouraged our friends and family to climb mountains, travel the world, and most importantly, to live each day the way Nick would. To appreciate the simple things we often take for granted, like running in the sunshine, sharing a favorite meal with people we love, and everything in between.
Race to Cure Sarcoma has become a meaningful tradition for all of us as we navigate a world without Nick by our side.
We participate to show how fiercely we believe in advancing sarcoma research, and to fund powerful breakthroughs that move us closer to a cure. We hope you will join us in beautiful San Francisco, because every step we take is a step toward fighting back against sarcoma.
We know for certain that Nick fought for a reason. 💛🌺
