Last year, I was diagnosed with sarcoma, a moment that changed my life in an instant. What followed was a journey that tested me physically, emotionally, and spiritually in ways I never imagined.

But through every appointment, every moment of uncertainty, and every step of recovery, my faith carried me. By the grace of God, I am still here and that means everything.

Now, I’m choosing to turn my experience into purpose. I’ve created Faithful Sunflower as a way to raise awareness and support sarcoma research through the Sarcoma Foundation of America, so that more lives can be impacted, more treatments can be discovered, and more families can have hope.

Through Race to Cure Sarcoma events, the Sarcoma Foundation of America has already invested over $20 million in research, funding more than 200 grants across 12 countries, leading to nearly 200 publications. That work has helped generate over $26 million in additional funding, supported 10+ clinical trials (with more on the way), and led to new breakthroughs.

Just as a sunflower naturally turns toward the sun, I have chosen to turn toward faith, even in uncertainty, even in fear, even in the fight.

Sunflowers stand tall, grow in tough soil, and continue reaching for the light. Faithful Sunflower is a symbol of resilience, hope, and the strength that comes from being rooted in something greater than myself.
