Greetings:  I want to thank everyone who has supported me and the American Cancer Society. With your generosity we continue the fight against cancer.  I am again asking you to donate any amount towards this cause.

At this time I am currently receiving chemotherapy treatments.  After reviewing the latest scan and bloodwork with my wife and oncologist we decided it best I go back to basics.  The chemotherapy I received in the past did a remarkable job to not only control the cancer but gave me more than 4 years without chemotherapy.  In the interim I received immunotherapy treatments which kept me feeling good and in terrific shape.  I should be good to go in the next 4 to 6 months and be back at it living life to the fullest.

This past year has also been especially difficult as I lost one of my best friends to pancreatic cancer.  He fought the fight with as much courage as anyone and will be missed.

This disease does not discriminate.  It can appear in anyone at any time, that is why it is so important for us to keep up the fight.

I want to encourage everyone who must deal with cancer to be strong and take one day at a time.  If you have friends or loved ones going through treatments, please give them encouraging words and offer support.

Please also get regular medical checkups. You may feel healthy but regular checkups will enable you to catch things early and hopefully avoid having to go through the ordeal of these terrible treatments.

There may not be a cure for cancer, but it can be treated.

I have been part of the ACS Bike-A-Thon program since the year 2000. Riding all but a few years due to my initial diagnosis with cancer.

I will be riding again this year and look forward to seeing everyone at the finish line.
