Since 2006, the StarKid 5K has supported Inova Children’s. Originally supporting the Pediatric Heart Program, proceeds now benefit pediatric services across Inova Health System, with this year’s funds supporting the new Pediatric Emergency Room at Inova Fairfax!

Inova Fairfax Hospital is Northern Virginia’s only Level I Trauma Center and the 3rd busiest ER in the nation, with the Inova Pediatric Emergency Room being the busiest pediatric ER in the region, handling over 63,000 visits in 2023. To meet growing demand, Inova has expanded the ER as part of the Do. More. Together. campaign, doubling the size of the Children’s ER with more private rooms, shorter wait times, and a dedicated pediatric entrance, creating a more welcoming, kid-friendly space for young patients and their families.
