This November, I’m running the Philadelphia Half Marathon with Sophia to raise funds for the Fairmount Park Conservancy, a local nonprofit that brings Philly parks to life.
In Philadelphia, 95% of residents live within 10 minutes of a park, yet only 1.2% of the city budget is allocated to parks. The Conservancy works year-round to create and care for high-quality parks that promote public health, social connection, and environmental resilience. They do this through capital projects, historic preservation, park stewardship groups, volunteer projects, and unique programs and events.
