My Dad is the guy you want in your corner. He'll cheer you on, make you laugh, and do silly things to support you when you're chasing your own dream. He loves a good adventure, but life has thrown some unpredicted ones his way lately. In the fall of 2024, Dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 Melanoma in his lungs. He has a wonderful oncologist at UW Carbone Cancer Center, Dr. Vincent Ma. Dr. Ma helped Dad take part in a clinical trial receiving immunotherapy. Thankfully Dad's melanoma responded very well to the immunotherapy. Unfortunately in the Summer of 2025, Dad was diagnosed with a second active cancer- Hepatocellular Carcinoma. He will be receiving radiation treatment at UW Carbone Cancer Center with Dr. Michael Bassetti, a world-renowned Radiation Oncologist.
I have been fortunate to attend several appointments and treatment sessions with my parents, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about all the staff he has worked with at UW Carbone Cancer Center. I am raising funds in support of my dad, Jim, with great hope that others will be able to access the tremendous medical and patient-centered care at UW Carbone Cancer Center.
