In 2025, our team of doctors and medical professionals (including your RD) founded the Korima Health Initiative, a nonprofit whose mission it is to equip and staff an astounding remote, wilderness clinic built in the wilds of the canyon. Your donation to Korima Health Initiative will go 100% to the effort to complete and staff the House of Mercy clinic (known as Kali Tibukuach in Rarámuri).

Since 2016, your RD has had the amazing opportunity to be part of the medical team that has traveled deep into the Copper Canyon of Chihuahua, México to distribute food and conduct field clinics for the Rarámuri (also known as the Tarahumara) people. Because I witnessed first-hand the unbelievable hardships of life in the canyon, I was given the gift of deep perspective. We all have SO MUCH, endless toothbrushes and soap, hospitals, most of us have 3 meals a day, shoes. Amid the alarming poverty, I also found a profound depth, an expansive home for the collective soul and love of all humankind.
