Hello! In January 2019 I had my first seizure and was diagnosed with Temporal Lobe Epilepsy. I was only 25 and with naive thoughts like “it’s only temporary” I did not realize how much my life was going to change! With a new drug concoction every few months my life became a constant battle of emotions and relations with the world. Luckier than most I was able to manage my work schedule, but I have come to recognize my personal life changed the most. I was connected to limited support groups, and heavily relied on my significant other. In time he and I found value in staying busy and enjoying hobby’s, which led us to the Emerald Mile 5k. Last year I surprised myself finishing just under 50mins, and it opened my mind to endless opportunites! The Epilepsy Alliance of Ohio is a guide and a tool for the many suffering the hidden battles that come with seizures. I simply wish I reached out sooner because after that 5k I finally found an avenue for a strong community, and happy to say Epilepsy will always be a part of me, and I’m ok with that! 💜💪🏻
Thank you for supporting the Epilepsy Alliance of Ohio, for your support means the world to me. I wish to help the epilepsy communities in any way possible, and funds gathered today provide many services to the community and impact the lives of thousands!!
