Almost every week I receive a call that someone has suffered a terrible loss. And although the stories of these tragedies are horrific to hear, I know that they will find the resources that they need at the Children’s Bereavement Center (CBC) for kids and families, and Lift From Loss grief support groups for adults.
I am taking Steps for Healing at Zoo Miami, on Saturday, November 15th. Join the fun, bring your friends and family, form a team and, if you can’t attend, please sponsor my run to ensure the CBC/LFL will be there whenever we are needed!
These past 26 years I have witnessed the remarkable power of the grief group support. The CBC/LFL groups offer on-line and in-person groups that provide:
• expertise with a Master’s level group facilitator trained in group process
• a community that understands the challenges that grievers endure
• the freedom to attend without concern of cost—our groups are FREE!
• the opportunity for every family member to join their own group
• choice in length of participation,
• groups in English, Spanish and Creole
• The opportunity to find a renewed perspective with hope and resilience
Nationally, the CBC Training Institute offers grief education for educators, healthcare professionals and the clergy. Throughout Florida, we are replicating our grief groups at schools and agencies creating CBC/LFL affiliated groups!
