The Community Center was founded in 2006 to serve local residents of St. Bernard Parish after the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina and Rita. As our center evolved, we realized our focus needed to change. In 2016, our center focused on providing food and essentials to St. Bernard Parish and Louisiana residents. Currently we operate as a food pantry for low income residents of St. Bernard and surrounding Parishes.

We serve over 300 families per month in our food pantry and are growing weekly. We are also in the process of rolling out our newest program, our "Hygiene Assistance Program". This will help provide essentials like feminine products, adult diapers, toothbrush and toothpaste, etc  to our current and future clients. So many children within our public school system do not have access to a meal from Friday after school until Monday morning.  Because of this, each week, we put together bags for students that will contain nutritious and easy to fix food that will help sustain them over the weekend. Currently, we feed 250 students per week in both elementary and middle schools.

At the Community Center of St. Bernard, we believe that having access to nutritious food is a top priority. We are committed to responding to the needs of our community through our Food Pantry. We value and respect every client that comes through our doors. We are here for you.
