Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
My father passed away at 46 from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Before the disease, he was known for his infectious laugh and his ability to fix just about anything. ALS gradually took those gifts—but it never took his spirit. Even as his body weakened, he found ways to keep smiling and bring joy to those around him. I’ll never forget him doing wheelies in his powered wheelchair in parking lots, determined to find moments of happiness despite the challenges he faced. That spirit—resilient, defiant, and full of life—is what “Awesome Ain’t Easy” is all about.
Since his passing, I’ve dedicated my career to helping people living with ALS. My journey has taken me from Neurology residency with the United States Air Force, through a fellowship in Neuromuscular Medicine, to now serving as an ALS specialist at Barrow Neurological Institute. Over these years, I’ve seen firsthand the difference that organizations like Team Gleason make every single day in clinic—whether it’s helping a patient regain independence with mobility equipment, stay connected through communication technology, or simply find hope and support in their daily lives.
I’ve also had the privilege of supporting the ALS community through fundraising—running the New York City Marathon for ALS TDI and ALS ONE, racing the Crescent City Classic twice for Team Gleason, and joining the NEALS charity bike ride. Each experience reminds me of the courage, resilience, and unwavering sense of community that exists among patients, families, and advocates.
That’s why supporting Team Gleason is so meaningful. Your donation provides equipment, technology, and programs that allow people living with ALS to maintain independence, stay connected to loved ones, and live with dignity. Because truly, awesome ain’t easy—but together, we can make it possible.
Please join me in supporting their mission. Your donation, no matter the size, helps provide immediate assistance to ALS patients in all 50 states.
Giving through this page is quick, secure, and the most effective way to support my efforts. Thank you so much for your generosity and feel free to share this page with others who may want to help too!
