Why I Am Running Across The Country to Support the American Cancer Society
Cancer has affected so many people I know and love that it's inspired me to join this American Cancer Society event. I ran my first DetermiNation event after my mom, Ann Pond, died from breast cancer metastasis to the liver. I've run 10 marathons in memory of my mom, and last year, I flew my first white angel ribbon for my dad after he joined my mom in heaven from a blioglastoma.
Taking part in this event gives me the chance to make a difference and honor those touched by cancer by raising funds for groundbreaking research and services for people dealing with cancer. These services and this funding is at risk - all funds raised running across the country supports cancer patient programs and research that can help save lives. Please join me in one or both of these ways: sign up and log miles running or walking to help us run across the country AND/OR make a donation!
