Meg’s Dopey Experiment: Testing the Limits of Human Endurance for STEM

Why I’m Taking on the Dopey Challenge for TECH Corps
Most people think running 48.6 miles across four days is a little... well, Dopey. But I’m taking on this challenge to support TECH Corps, an organization dedicated to ensuring K-12 students have access to the technology skills they need to thrive in a digital world.

Every cent of your donation goes to the organization. You are not paying any part of the run registration, I paid that already!

Here is why I’m "uploading" 48.6 miles to my personal hard drive:

1. Hardwiring the Future
In today’s world, computer science is a fundamental literacy, yet many students don't have access to high-quality technology programs. TECH Corps bridges this gap by bringing hands-on coding, robotics, and app development to kids who need it most. I’m running so they can keep building the "software" of the future.

2. A Marathon of Logic and Grit
Running 5K, 10K, a Half Marathon, and a Full Marathon back-to-back is a lot like debugging a complex program. It requires logic, patience, and the refusal to quit when things get difficult. I’m pushing my physical "processor" to its limits to show students that with enough persistence, they can solve any problem—whether it’s a line of code or a 26.2-mile stretch.

3. Closing the Digital Divide
Every child should have the chance to be a creator, not just a consumer, of technology. By supporting my Dopey Challenge, you are directly funding programs like Student TechCorps and Techie Camp, giving students the tools to build their own futures.

Join My Mission:
I’ll be handling the 3:00 AM wake-up calls and the 48.6 miles of Disney pavement, but I need your help to "complete the circuit."

A gift of $48.60 honors every mile I run and helps put technology in the hands of a curious student.
A gift of $100 helps power a Techie Camp experience for a future developer.
Every step I take is a step toward a more tech-literate world. Let’s build something great together!
