"The Original Siesta Key Triathlon" has been held annually on the #1 beach in the USA since 1985 with 100% of the proceeds benefitting the Yellow and Black of the Sarasota Sharks Swim Team. The race consists of a 0.3-mile Swim in the Gulf of Mexico along the beach just out from the iconic lifeguard towers of Siesta Key Beach. The bike loop is a fast 13-miles along an open course south to Turtle Beach, north through Siesta Key Village, and back. The 3.1-mile run takes you out to the hard packed white sands of Siesta Key Beach, south along the shoreline to the turnaround at Old Stickney Pt. Rd Beach Access and back to the Finish Line and festivities.
Siesta Key Triathlon has a NO REFUND policy. Race management reserves the right to cancel or modify the event due to inclement weather, emergency, natural disaster, governmental interference, or natural occurrences beyond the control of race management. Entries are NON-REFUNDABLE.

Recently USAT and IRONMAN partnered in an initiative to grow the sport of triathlon. The Siesta Key Triathlon is proud to have taken the pledge to do the same.
Initiatives are great and they can be motivating, but they go nowhere unless EVERYONE helps out. So, please consider doing YOUR PART in helping to grow our sport.
YOUR CHALLENGE: Find one friend who has never done a triathlon and get them to sign up for one this year. Do the race together. Tell them you got their back and assure them THEY CAN DO IT!
