Historic Elizabeth Main Street 5K
Event Description
Join us for this family-friendly event! The 5K run/walk will begin and end on Elizabeth's historic Main Street, featuring an exciting course that is a mix of pavement and dirt for varied terrain. The Family Color Run will take place in Running Creek Park, starting on Main Street.
Be sure to hang out post-race and enjoy a Flippin Flapjacks breakfast, grab a free beer at our local brewery, browse the vendors, and have fun with games for all ages. Don't forget to explore the many great local businesses we have along Main Street.

Event Medical Support
Medical officials are prepared to treat injuries that may occur during this event, including a medical tent and personnel at the start/finish line area and medical staff on the course.
Parking
Street parking is free and is available throughout downtown Elizabeth. Please be aware that parking will not be available along Main Street between the intersections of Elm Street and Spruce Street.
Pet Policy
We love our furry friends! Pets are welcome to join you on Main Street and enjoy the festivities. However, for the safety and comfort of all participants, pets are not allowed on the race course. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Commemorative Finisher's Medal
Every participant will take home a truly special piece of Elizabeth history! Our 2025 commemorative medal features the iconic D&NO Railroad train and proudly celebrates Elizabeth's 135th anniversary. This isn't just a medal—it's a unique keepsake that honors our town's rich railroad heritage that helped build the community we cherish today.
As you race through Elizabeth's historic Main Street, you're literally running through living history. Though the original train tracks are gone, the spirit of that era lives on in the beautiful historic buildings lining your route—many dating back to the railroad's peak years. Your finisher's medal serves as a lasting reminder of both your personal achievement and your connection to Elizabeth's remarkable 135-year journey.

2025 Race T-Shirts
5K Participants: Every runner receives a high-quality event t-shirt in their race packet. We encourage everyone to wear their shirt during the race and show your Elizabeth 5K pride!
Family Color Run Participants: Every participant gets their own event t-shirt (children's sizes available) in their race packet. Wear it during the run and watch it transform into a colorful work of art! Fair warning: you'll leave with a rainbow of memories on your shirt.
Pro tip: These shirts make fantastic keepsakes, so you might want to bring a change of clothes for after the Color Run! Want to preserve your colorful creation? Before washing, spray your shirt with a vinegar-water solution (1 part white vinegar to 3 parts water) and let it sit for 30 minutes. This helps set the chalk colors. Then wash in cold water on a gentle cycle and air dry to keep those vibrant memories looking fresh!
