THANK YOU!!
Thanks to our amazing sponsors, and to you, the runners, for an amazing first-time event. Having perfect weather helped, as well as the cooperation of the Wilton Police. It seemed like everyone liked the course, the time of day, and the logistics of a point-to-point race weren't overwhelming. So, we'll be back next year - maybe with even more miles on the NRVT! Please email us with what you liked, and what we can do better going forward.
Event Description
Run a net downhill course, the last 2 miles on the Norwalk River Valley Trail.
Proceeds go toward NRVT's Trail Maintenance fund.

Course information
We just measured the course and found it has an elevation loss of 87m - that's nearly 18 times what's allowable for record purposes.
The map to the right shows the course in reverse, measured Finish to Start.
Come see what it's like to run down a mountain!

Parking and Logistics
OK, first off, this is a point-to-point course, which brings challenges not encountered at most events - mainly, how to get back to the start after you finish. We faced the same issues for years at the Great Train Race and were able to overcome them by several methods:
- Park at Ambler Farm, run the race, then jog/walk back as your cooldown (knowing it will be mostly UPhill).
- Park at the Commuter Lot across Rt. 7 from the finish before the race, jog/walk to Ambler for your warmup, then run the race.
- Coordinate/carpool with friends. Park a car at the Commuter Lot before the race, pile into a second car to drive to Ambler, run the race, then use the first car to drive back to Ambler.
- Park in the lot at the Sharp Hill Rd. trail crossing (Note: limited spaces here), near the halfway point of the course. Jog/walk to Ambler, run the race, then jog/walk back to Sharp Hill after.
