PinkStrong Sprint Duathlon is a new women’s multisport race for female runners, cyclists, triathletes and duathletes in Central Texas. You can raise your hand as a multisport champion by participating in the event, which combines running and cycling into a single race.
Whether you're a new runner or a seasoned cyclist, if you compete in marathons, if you just picked up your bike for the first time in decades during Covid, or if you're a seasoned triathlete looking to relive the thrilling, adrenaline-filled moments of short-course racing, this event will undoubtedly help you obtain the best benefits for your specific fit competitive athletic needs.
A duathlon will put your fitness to test by combining running and cycling into one race.
The PinkStrong Sprint Duathlon multisport race begins with athletes charging BOLDLY up the Lakeway PinkStrong Hill, which leads to a 1.5 mile run on the trail. You will then transition onto the bike and cycle approximately 10 miles on a two loop course with fast flats and punchy short rolling hills, returning to the park you will then move on to complete your final run leg of 2.5 miles.
The PinkStrong 5K Trail Challenger course has been designed to be adventurous, with gravel, pavement, butterflies gardens, nestled brooks, bumpy hills, secret shady pathways, and grass. Prepare for rocky climbs and fast descents on all surfaces.
The PinkStrong Sprint Duathlon Trail Running Festival will take place at Lakeway City Park on April 24, 2022, and will be the first of three PinkStrong multisport events in 2022. Run Course #1: The first run will be a 1.5 mile loop held entirely in the park on the park road and paved path. The course starts out uphill for the first 1/4 miles and a fast downhill will put you on a paved trail to complete the run to transition.

Bike Course: The bike course is an approximately 5mile loop on public roads completed 2x. The course has rolling short hills, fast flat stretches and dedicated bike lanes on major roads. BIKE COURSE IS NOT CLOSED TO VEHICLE TRAFFIC. You must use caution and make your own judgement call when turning at each intersection. Police & Volunteers are at the turns to ensure you know where to turn but will not be controlling traffic.

Transition Area: There will be one transition area near kayak launch on in the grass or bottom parking lot for this event.
Start: We will use a mass start for this event.
Timing: This event will be professionally chip timed! We will be providing race day results at our results kiosk immediately after you finish your race. We will also provide a web link to results that you can share with your family and friends so they can follow your race on their web devices.
Course Support: We will have water and sport drink at the water stations on the run as well as at the finish line. You will have 3 opportunities to hydrate on the run course. The water stations are located approximately at miles .9, 1.5, 2.2. There are no water or food stations on the bike course. We will also have food items and beverages at the finish line area for volunteers and participants only.
Athlete Responsibility: USAT rules state that it is the athletes responsibility to know the course. Please study the map and drive, or even better practice, the course.

Each athlete will be given an ample *3* hours time limit to complete their event. No woman left behind and course/finish line will remain open till the last athlete crosses. Beginning after the last wave of runners crosses unto the course, there will be a two-hour cut-off time to complete both the first run leg and bike portions of the race. In addition, there will be a three-hour cut-off time to complete the entire race. The cut-off begins once the last wave enters the run course.
We will have waves and seeding on race morning and possibly corrals to account for social distancing if required. The race will begin with all individual competitors followed by relay teams:

For those of you who participated in the Chucks & Pearls Duathlon & Trail Run 2021, we have rebranded, remixed, and renamed it PinkStrong. We invite all past race participants to join us on this new course at this new location.
