Details

This volunteer will help us checkin and load the spectator boat at Fogg's. About 50 people will load the boat. This volunteer also takes the boat with the spectators around the course and will end up unloading at Peaks with them. We will inform this volunteer about other responsibilities while on the boat.

Timing Checkpoint volunteers will be given a phone that has an app that when enabled and started it will automatically capture any athlete wearing their timing chip that comes within 100' of it. Volunteer simply stands or sits with the phone as athletes pass. Athlete may be asked to take written record of each athlete's number that passes as backup. If necessary for this backup we will inform the volunteer. We provide the timing cell phones.

Patrols Sector 3 Swimmer Crossings - Long to Cow, Cow to Great Diamond, Great Diamond to Little Diamond, and Little Diamond to Peaks. Sector 1 & 2 boats will assist as needed on their way down to patrol Sector 4. SECTOR 3 JOINS SECTOR 4 ONCE ALL SWIMMERS ARE CLEARED ONTO PEAKS ISLAND OFF OF THE SWIM FROM LITTLE DIAMOND.

LONG ISLAND - Med Team Members (on land) High Priority

Location

Long Island - These med team members will be dropped off on the island by the long course athlete ferry on its way to the start line. Once on island each med team member gets a rented golf cart to patrol their run course section. More info to come prior to the race.

FINISH LINE & PEAKS - Med Team Member (on land) High Priority

$50 per hour stipend provided. We will supply you with a medical bag. Please return to us when finished. THIS SPECIFIC POSITION ACTUALLY STARTS AT 9:00AM AT LIONS CLUB ON PEAKS. THIS MED TEAM MEMBER ONLY GETS ON A FERRY TO PEAKS TO BE THERE BY 9AM. We will give you instructions on what to do once on board and how to get to your position.

POST RACE

Finish Line Area Setup/Maintenance Medium Priority

Details

Various volunteers responsible for helping with finish line tasks like putting up the inflatable, helping the timer, announcer, and cook with whatever they may need. Also in charge of organizing awards, handing out finisher items, restocking any items that need it, and keeping trash tidy.
