Course Cheerleaders/direction helper High Priority

You must be 14 or older to volunteer for this task.

At least 10 more volunteers needed.

Details

Duties include directing runners and keeping them safe along the route are the key responsibilities. A proper understanding of the course and being able to stop pedestrian and/or vehicular traffic while runners cross. Being confident and being loud (if necessary) are pluses.

You also are a key player in keeping the excitement and momentum going on course. Keep them smiling!

MUST WEAR A SAFETY VEST (provided by Race Director at check-in)! Standing for long periods of time is required.

This assignment is outdoors. You need to be prepared for the weather on race day & bring your own hydration, snacks and sun screen.

Finish Line - Help Timers as Needed High Priority

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

Arrive by 7:00 am, and meet the race director at the start/finish line.

Work at the direction of the race director and timer. Assist with timing (manual and/or digital) and set-up/break-down of finish line equipment. Some lifting is required.

You also have a key role in cheering on our runners as they finish their race!

Race Day Registration/Check In High Priority

You must be 15 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Please arrive by 7:00 am to assist with set-up.

Provide services for walk-up registration, bib number assignment/distribution, and giveaway pick-up. Positive attitudes a MUST.

T-shirt Distribution High Priority

At least 2 more volunteers needed.

Details

Please arrive by 7:00am

You will manage handing out shirts and matching shirt size to participant name.

Race Photographers High Priority

Details

Arrive at 8:00 am, check-in with the volunteer coordinator, and receive your instructions.

Responsible for using your own camera to capture photos at registration, start/finish and along the event course.

Details

Arrive at 6:30 am and help set up tables/tents/signage/pools/kissing booth/inflatable dog etc.

Check in with volunteer coordinator when you arrive.

Clean Up at Venue/Course High Priority

Details

Help clean up after the event. This includes collecting signs from the course, break down tents etc.

Set up Dog Rest Stop on Course High Priority

Arrive to venue no later than 7:30 am. Collect all items from the race director that need to be placed on course for the dog rest area. This task requires lifting a heavy water jug and filling dog bowls.

Water/Donut Set Up High Priority

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

Arrive to venue no later than 7:30 am. Check-in with race director for the location of the race refuel area. Proceed to the area and set up the water/donuts/fruit. There will be approximately 20 cases of water and 10 dozen donuts to arrange. If possible, please also provide/donate one or more coolers and ice. If not possible, just place water so it is easy for people to get to.

Packet Pick up Tuesday before race @ Lucky Road Willow Lawn High Priority

Details

11am-4pm packet pick up at Lucky Road Run Shop at Willow Lawn Shopping Center. Assign bib numbers and hand out swag bags and t-shirts.

Mini Dog Agility High Priority

You must be 25 or older to volunteer for this task.

At least 5 more volunteers needed.

Details

Arrive at the venue no later than 7:00 am and ensure the agility area is set up. Staff the area to help/guide/assist pet owners and their dogs on how to properly use and navigate the agility equipment. To volunteer for this task you must have previous knowledge of working with dogs and agility equipment.

Dog Sensory Area High Priority

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

Arrive at the venue no later than 7:00 am and ensure the sensory area is set up. Staff the area to help/guide/assist pet owners and their dogs on how to properly use and navigate the various sensory items. To volunteer for this task you must have previous knowledge of how to introduce a dog to an unfamiliar surface/sound/etc.

Bike Lead & Course Checker High Priority

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

The task includes arriving at the venue no later than 8:15 am. with your own bike. You will be leading/pacing the fastest runners through the course. You will then circle the route a few more times to ensure no runners/walkers have gone off course or are lost.
This assignment is outdoors and will occur rain or shine. Be prepared for the weather on race day.
