I AM TOUGH RUCKING FOR AMERICA'S FALLEN MILITARY & FIRST RESPONDERS.
We all know someone who lived to serve and gave it all. We all know someone who was willing to step into the line of fire and selflessly put others' lives before their own. These warriors are why I am walking. Thank you so much for considering a donation.
This April, I will be joining Tough Ruck Nation to complete a marathon with a 15lbs rucksack (backpack). Tough Ruck 26.2 Boston is an elite group of 1000 who ruck to HONOR AMERICA'S FALLEN MILITARY & FIRST RESPONDERS. We humbly carry the names of the Fallen on our rucks as they will NEVER BEEN FORGOTTEN. We will also be raising critical funds for our Warriors. This is where we need your help! The basic ideal that drives our efforts is simple: as much as our Warriors have sacrificed, they and their families deserve the best care and support available in their hour of need. Your tax deductible donation literally provides a lifeline to a Warrior.
I am participating in this year’s Tough Ruck because of where I come from and who helped shape the community I will always call home. I grew up in Uxbridge, Massachusetts — a small town, but a truly special one. It was the kind of place where neighbors looked out for one another, where values mattered, and where I was fortunate to have a wonderful upbringing that laid the foundation for who I am today. Although I’ve since moved to Medway and begun raising my own family there, Uxbridge will always hold a permanent place in my heart.
This year, I walk in honor of fallen Uxbridge Police Officer Stephen LaPorta. He was my age and leaves behind his beloved wife and children — a loss that feels deeply personal and profoundly unfair. His life was taken in the line of duty while serving and protecting the very community that helped raise me.
Through this ruck, I want to honor Officer LaPorta’s sacrifice and express gratitude that words can never fully capture. Like so many others in our community, I am endlessly thankful for his service, his bravery, and his commitment to keeping others safe. This walk is a small gesture, but it comes from a place of deep respect, remembrance, and love for a hometown that never leaves you.
