I suffered a spinal cord injury in Sept 2015 during a bike training ride, the weekend before I was supposed compete in my first half IRONMAN in Santa Cruz. CAF came into my life while I was still in the ICU, through the triathlon community in the San Francisco Bay Area.
My first experience was an indoor cycling ride fundraiser with Pro Triathlete Merredith Kessler. At the end of the event, I was awarded an invite to a CAF triathlon camp in San Diego.Since then CAF has been with me over the past 11 years.
From...2x IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside, 3x IRONMAN 70.3 Lubbock, 2x Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon, 2019 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships in Nice, 2022 IRONMAN World Championships in Kona, 2023 IRONMAN California, and the 2024 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships in Taupō, New Zealand.
This year, my buddy Aaron Jasper and I are doing the NY Marathon through CAF as a goal before we turn 50. To commemorate the bucketlist race, we want to support the next generation of CAF adaptive athletes.
Please support our team in CAF's continuing mission to support athletes like me, at any level, conquer their athletic goals. This community is special, needed, and priceless.
