This year, my friends and I will be participating again in the Lowvelo Bike Race. This year is particularly special as I lost my beloved Grandfather, Don Meis, to pancreatic cancer earlier this year, and my best friend, Elliott Boals, lost her amazing father, Mark, last September after an almost two-year battle with cancer. Both received the best treatment and kindness possible at MUSC Hollings Cancer Center. 

Our team name, Shiny Happy People, is looking to collectively raise $25,000 to directly benefit the families, communities, and survivors still fighting cancer.  One hundred percent of every dollar raised goes directly to lifesaving cancer research at MUSC Hollings Cancer Center, helping move us closer to better treatments, better outcomes, and one day a cure.
