Pedal the Cause

I am proud to join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer. Pedal the Cause is more than the region's largest cancer fundraiser. It's a way of life, a celebration, a family and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer.

Last year, my wife Melanie was diagnosed with Melanoma. She received expert treatment, and beat melanoma. Only a few months later, she was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. She found an amazing team of physicians at the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital: Dr. Nancy Bartlett and Dr. Hunter Cochran. They were so reassuring and professional. Melanie was enrolled in a clinical trial using an immunotherapy (avoiding chemotherapy and hair-loss). She responded wonderfully well to treatment and was declared cancer free in May.

Needless to say, we are grateful for all of the research being done by the doctors at Siteman. Dr. Bartlett has been the recipient of funding from Pedal the Cause. Cancer is more treatable because of the on-going groundbreaking research done by doctors like Dr. Bartlett.
