Porter was diagnosed with KDM5C Disorder when he was 2 years old in 2015 at Cleveland Clinic. Now Porter is 12 years old and going into 7th grade.
KDM5C is a master regulator gene that controls how other genes are turned on and off in our bodies, causing dysregulation in all parts of the body for a lifetime. For Porter this ultra rare disorder causes nonspeaking autism, ADHD, challenging behavior, fine and gross motor delays, intellectual disability, high muscle tone, gastrointestinal issues, sleep difficulties, vitiligo, hypothyroidism, short stature and vision problems. Despite these challenges Porter is one of the happiest kids you've ever met with the best personality and a great sense of humor!
