Family and Friends -
The girls and I are fundraising to support The DONNA Foundation! We will be going to Jacksonville in February, for Claire's 10th birthday, to spend the weekend running, the girls are doing the 5K with me, I run the half on Sunday with my Best Running Friend and Breast Cancer Survivor, Running Past Cancer! We have joined her fundraising team and hope to be able to raise at least $500 for this wonderful foundation. Skip your Starbucks for the week and please help us, no donation is too small!
A little bit about The DONNA Foundation and their mission of providing financial assistance and support to those living with breast cancer and to fund groundbreaking breast cancer research:
- Over the last two decades, The Donna Foundation has helped support more than 17,000 families living with breast cancer through The DONNA CareLine
- The Donna Foundation's CareLine is where people affected with breast cancer can call to receive financial assistance while going through treatment.
- 51% of patients served by the DONNA CareLine have an annual income of under $24K.
- Imagine in this economy, having to choose between feeding your family or paying for a utilities bill versus paying for cancer treatment.
- Contributed more than $3.3M towards groundbreaking breast cancer research
- Celebrated survivorship with more than 140,000 athletes crossing the DONNA finish lines including The National Marathon to Finish Breast Cancer.
For every $50 raised, someone gets transportation to treatment. For every $100 raised, someone will be able to pay a utility bill during treatment.
