In 2016, Rylen Cowan was born. From the get-go, he was an amazing son! Our 2nd Child, Rylen, was full of life and kept us on our toes. He was always trying to keep up with his brother in whatever he was doing. Shortly after his 1st birthday, Rylen became ill. Never did our family imagine that what seemed like a normal viral cold would turn into a battle for his life. Rylen fought hard, and even in the darkness of the hospital, he continued to teach our family lessons that I am still learning almost 9 years later.
Though his life and our time with him were cut short, Rylen lives on in our hearts and minds.
- He lives on by giving life to 5 others through organ donation.
- He lives on through our community and the support we continue to receive from all of YOU!
- He lives on through the Smilin' Rylen Foundation, the Smilin' Rylen Run, and through Smilin' Rylen Parking Passes.
Little but mighty, he continues to change MY LIFE and so many others. His life continues to teach me what is important: that time is precious, memories will always be with me, and that grief has its Highs and Lows.
With that, I ask you to remember Rylen by supporting me or one of our many other runners who give back to our community and the families that so desperately need support through our beneficiaries.
