This July, our family—Amy, Bobby, and 8-year-old Georgi—is gearing up for another ride on The Great Bicycle Tour (TGBT) of the C&O Canal: 184.5 miles over four days, in support of San Mar Family and Community Services.
What started as a fun family challenge five years ago has become an annual tradition, and a cause deeply close to our hearts. We ride not just for the adventure—but because we believe in San Mar’s mission to support and strengthen children, families, and communities in Western Maryland. From its origins as an orphanage in the late 1800s, to its current work in foster care, mental health, and community services, San Mar has always shown up with compassion, innovation, and what they call “unconditional care.” We’ve seen that value in action, not just in how they serve others, but in how they’ve supported our quirky, slow-rolling, tandem-riding trio every mile of the way.
Together, we’re pedaling to make a difference—and we’d be honored if you would support us on this ride. Your donation, no matter the size, helps ensure that San Mar can continue meeting families where they are and lifting them up.
Thanks so much for your encouragement, generosity, and belief in this mission. We’ll do the pedaling—will you help us move the mission forward?
