Hello!
The week I stepped into the CEO role, my father passed away after spending six weeks under the care of our hospice team.
During that time, I saw firsthand what our work truly means. The compassion, the dignity, the professionalism, and the unwavering comfort our team gave my father, and my family.
Since then, I’ve had the opportunities to go out on numerous ride-a-longs with our hospice staff and spoken to many other families who have experienced the same. And I can tell you with certainty: I wasn’t receiving special treatment. This is simply what our hospice team does. Every patient. Every family. Every time.
That is what the race is about. Honoring this extraordinary work. Supporting it. Making sure we can continue to provide this level of care to every person who needs us, regardless of their means, background, or diagnosis.
Please consider supporting this mission with me to make hospice care more widely available and easily accessible to the people and families who need it. Any donation amount will be appreciated. Thank you so much, and I look forward to seeing my friends and community at the URMC Hospice 5K on October 25th!
