If you are interested in registering as a Magnolia Community Services charity runner/walker and have questions, please contact Maggie Spell at (504) 731-1355 or maggies@mcs-nola.org.

As a community of dedicated employees, families, and medical professionals, our mission is to provide the highest quality of service, leadership, and advocacy for individuals with developmental disabilities in the Greater New Orleans area.

Founded in 1935, Magnolia Community Services is a private 501(c) (3) non-profit organization providing support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We offer support and services in more than twenty residential group homes, supported community living, supported employment, recreational, and wellness programs.

For every $300 raised, Magnolia will be able to increase our clients' social experiences through volunteer opportunities and elective clubs.

Magnolia clients are active on our River Road main campus and in the community, participating in activities such as Latin dance classes, job skills training, fitness classes, and more. Equally as important, our clients routinely give back to the community through volunteerism. Magnolia residents volunteer over 1,500 hours each year for organizations such as Second Harvest Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, Catholic Charities, Longue Vue House and Gardens, City Park, and the New Orleans Greek Festival.

Our clients can participate in one of several elective clubs. For example, clients in the Gratitude Committee volunteer their time to send handwritten thank you notes to Magnolia volunteers and donors. The Walking Club walks in Jefferson Playground every other Saturday. And new clubs -- such as the Music Club and the Sports Club -- have just begun. We hope to introduce more clubs based on our clients' interests and hobbies.

With your support, Magnolia Community Services can continue to lead the way for adults with developmental disabilities in the Greater New Orleans area. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of those who rely on us!
