Nic's Race 5k, Kids 2k, & Duathlon
RACE DAY
This is a fun event for kids, families & competitive athletes to celebrate the life of Nic Nelson, a passionate Turnagain Training youth triathlete that passed away from cancer in 2019. There is a 5k, Family Fun Run 2k, Kid's & Adult's Duathlon races. In-person start times are listed below, race is on Sunday, September 28th, 2025 at Kincaid Park. The virtual 5k run is open for submission anytime September 28, 12:01am through October 5th, 11:59pm. Race funds go towards the NicStrong Foundation.

5k Trail Run Course
Nic's Race 5k is a trail run on Mize Loop with rolling hills, a view nice of the inlet and one character building uphill finish.
2k Family Fun Run Course
Nic's Race 2k Family Fun Run is an all trail run that navigates the trails surrounding the soccer fields below the chalet.
Duathlon Bike Course
This is a .35mile loop with an out & back to the transition area. Kids 4-8yrs old will complete 3 laps (1.25miles total), Adult Duathlon Family Relay bikers and kids 9-12yrs old will complete 6 laps (2.5miles total). This is 100% on pavement! All types of bikes are welcome, mountain, road, hybrid (Exception, NO e-Bikes are allowed for safety & fairness!).
Duathlon Run Course
This is a .35mile loop on pavement. Kids 4-8 & Kids in the Family Fun Duathlon Relay will complete 1 loop per run. Kids ages 9-12yrs old will complete 2 loops per run.
