Junior Triathlon Races

- IMPORTANT NOTE: Any junior entering the 11-12 or 13-15 triathlon races must be a proficient swimmer. The swim is in Hamilton Harbour in deep water with no ability to stand or touch the bottom. By entering their junior triathlete in one of the events, the responsible adult making the entry will be representing to the Bermuda Triathlon Association and the race organizers that the triathlete being entered is a proficient swimmer over the relevant distance, and entry is at the risk of the adult making the entry on behalf of the junior traithlete.

Adult Try-a-Tri
(age 16 and up*) (intended for those who have not participated in a triathlon before)

Adult Individual/Team Triathlon

- The Sprint Distance Individual National Championship (Female and Male) is for any athlete aged 16 and over. (Note that an athlete who will be 15 as at 31 December 2025 can apply to the BTA Executive for permission to enter the Sprint Distance)
- The first female and male to cross the finish line will be the Female and Male Sprint Distance National Champions respectively.
- The results will be further split into the following age groups: 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 & over.
- Teams can comprise Mixed (Open), All Female and All Male
- All members of a Team must be age 16 or over. (Note that an athlete who will be 15 as at 31 December 2025 can apply to the BTA Executive for permission to enter as a team member in the Sprint Distance).
- Teams should generally comprise 3 individuals, one doing the swim, one doing the bike and one doing the run. However It is possible for an athlete doing the Individual race to be the swimmer for a team – such individual will be required to do a separate registration as an individual, as well as register as a member of a team.

Registration/Packet Pick-up
Registration and packet pick up will be from 4.30 to 6.30 pm on Friday 27 June 2025 at the office of Liberty Mutual Insurance at 141 Front Street, Hamilton HM19, Bermuda.
Included in your packet will be:
- A set of race stickers with your number – one for the seat post on your bike, three for your helmet (front, left and right), a set of Tattoos (comprising 4 tattoos of your race number and instructions how to apply them), and the mandatory swim cap.
- For Teams, the swimmer wears the swim cap and two tattoos on the arms, the cyclist uses the bike seat post and helmet stickers, and the runner applies the remaining two tattoos to the arms.
General
- You must have a bike in GOOD WORKING ORDER
- All athletes doing the swim must wear the swim cap provided with the packet, and must be able to swim the relevant distance in deep water and unaided
- You must have a CPSC or other accredited approved bike helmet that fits and clips up
- No outside assistance for competitors permitted
- All competitors must be members of the Bermuda Triathlon Association (BTA)
- Entry Fees include a $10 BTA one day fee. If you are a member of the BTA this fee will be discounted at Checkout
- All competitors must follow triathlon rules outlined on www.bermudatriathlon.com
- Drafting will be permitted for the Junior Duathlon and Triathlon Races
- NO DRAFTING permitted for the Sprint Distance Race – penalties for infringements will apply
- No wetsuits permitted
- Full course maps appear as a menu item above and are available for download
- It is each athlete’s responsibility to know the course for the race she/he is participating in – if an athlete does not complete the correct course she/he will be disqualified
