Bakersfield Marathon

Approximately 4,000 athletes will participate in the 2025 Bakersfield Marathon on Sunday, March 30th. To ensure a safe race environment, the route will include temporary road closures throughout the city, beginning at the Kern County Museum. 

A clean-up crew and police safety team will follow the final runner, reopening roads as the race progresses. Streets near the starting line at the Kern County Museum will begin reopening as early as 8:00 AM, with rolling re-openings continuing throughout the day until all roads are fully accessible by 2:30 PM.

For real-time navigation, we recommend using GPS apps such as Waze and Apple Maps, as road closures will be updated in these systems to help drivers navigate the city more easily.
