This event is postponed due to changes in California's Department of Public Health's guidance.

The State of California recently updated the guidance for Youth Sports and Adult Recreation to "exclude community events including Marathons, Half Marathons and Endurance events.https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CID/DCDC/Pages/COVID-19/outdoor-indoor-recreational-sports.aspx

New guidance is expected this coming Friday and we should have a new date announce soon.

Q: Is the Lake Evans Triathlon USAT sanctioned?
A: Yes, the race is USAT sanctioned!

Q: Are spectators allowed?
A: Currently we are planning to follow our Covid-19 safety protocols similar to 2020. This includes no spectators allowed at the race. If you have family or friends that would like to see you race, volunteering is a great way to be able to be on site and cheer while helping make the event happen.

Q: What is your refund policy if I am sick?
A: If an athlete Is sick, suspects Covid symptoms, or has been in contact with someone with Covid-19 we encourage them to stay home. Athletes can defer, transfer their registration to another race, or opt to receive swag and race as a "virtual" upon request. Athletes  have the option to purchase registration insurance which will provide a refund in the event of being sick, injured, or scheduled to work.  

Q: Triathlons keep getting canceled, what are my risks for signing up for this race?
A: If the race is canceled for any reason athletes will have the option to defer to a race in 2022, transfer to another Sierra Cascades event, or receive a refund.

Safety

Your safety is our highest concern at the race.  

  • 5+ Kayaks/Paddleboards/Lifeguards in the water.
  • Hall Ambulance on site.
Covid-19 Safety Measures

At this time we are expecting to follow similar Covid-19 safety measures which we followed in 2020.

Packet Pickup and Registration

  • There will be no in person or paper registration. Online registration will remain open until race start.

Race Day

  • Masks will be required before and after the race. Masks will not be required during the event.
  • Athletes will recieve a self-evaluation question to help determine if they should stay home or return to racing.
  • Anyone with a temperature of 100.0 F or higher should stay home.
  • Race debriefing will be pre-recorded and playing during set up to eliminate an athlete meeting. Additional information may be provided at race start to small groups of athletes.
  • Bike racks will be spaced with 6 feet between bike racks.
  • Racks will be marked for two Sprint and two Olympic athletes per rack
  • Race will be a rolling time trial with chipped swim start
  • While aid stations will be provided, athletes are encouraged to bring their own water to limit contact
  • Race tattoos will be provided in race packets and should be applied prior to arriving at the race venue.
  • Virtual awards ceremony and mailed awards
  • Post race food will be pre-packaged for the athlete to take to go

Spectators

  • Spectators are not allowed. Friends and family are encouraged to volunteer.

Refund Policy Update

  • If an athlete has a fever, suspects Covid symptoms, or is concerned about racing at this time they can defer or transfer their registration to another race. 

Volunteers get a meal, t-shirt, and choice of

  • $20 donated to your organization, group or club
  • 100% off a 5k or 10k run hosted by Activitynut
  • 50% off of a multisport event hosted by Activitynut
  • $30 off of next year's season pass

Entry fee reimbursed for volunteers.
