Race Packet Contents

Ahoy, Mateys!
Get ready for adventure! Your Captain Kids Race Packet is packed with everything you need to sail smoothly through race day. Whether you're a first-time crew member or a seasoned racer, your packet includes essential gear, goodies, and info to help you have the best experience possible.
Below you'll find exactly what's inside — so you can check your loot, plan ahead, and focus on having FUN. Let the countdown to race day begin!

Race Numbers
Race Bib
Your race bib number is nonadhesive and must be visible on the front of your body during the run.
- If you're using safety pins, attach the bib to your shirt with four pins—one in each corner. If you're pinning it to a shirt, make sure that shirt is placed in transition before the race starts.
- If you're using a race belt, no pins are needed! Attach the bib to the belt using the toggles and leave it in transition before the race. When you head out for the run, strap it around your waist, turn the bib to the front, and go!

Bike and Helmet Numbers
Your bike and helmet stickers come on the same sticker strip.
- The helmet sticker is the small rectangle in the middle. Place it on the front of your helmet.
- The bike sticker is the odd-shaped one left behind after you remove the helmet sticker. Stick it on the crossbar or seat post—whichever works best for your bike! Just make sure the sticker number is visible from both sides of the bike.

Race Tattoos
Your packet includes race number tattoos—these go on the upper part of both arms.
- Follow the simple instructions on the back of the tattoo sheet to apply them.
- Use a wet cloth or sponge to press and hold for about 30 seconds, then peel off the backing.
- Make sure skin is clean and dry before applying—no sunscreen or lotion!
- Apply them before arriving at the race, if possible, to avoid delays.
- These tattoos help photographers identify athletes during the race too, so wear them proudly!

Timing

Timing Chip and Ankle Strap
The strap contains the timing chip that will record your race time—it’s important!
- Place the strap on your left ankle before you enter transition.
- To apply: remove the adhesive backing, wrap the strap around your left ankle, stick it in place, and go!
- Try to stick it only once—if you need to reposition it, use safety pins too.
Make sure the strap is secure but not too tight—you will need to move comfortably!
Live results with splits can be found using a QR code posted near the finish line and at the information tent. Final results will be posted as soon as possible after the event. If you lose your timing strap, see the timer after you cross the finish line.

Other Items
Swim Cap
You should put your swim cap on before heading into transition, and remove it after exiting the water on your way back. You can simply leave the cap in transition and get ready for the bike course.
The color of the swim cap corresponds to your wave, so make sure you’re wearing the correct one.

Colored Wristbands
Your packet includes two matching wristbands—one for you, and one for your parent or guardian. You must wear your wristband to race! Put it on before heading to transition—you’ll need it to enter transition before the race and to pick up your bike afterward. It’s also your ticket to the waterpark!
Your parent or guardian must wear the matching wristband to pick you up at the finish line. The number on the wristband does not match your bib number—it’s simply a way for our Deckhands to ensure the right person picks you up.
Your wristband also helps you find your spot in transition. The color of your wristband matches the color posted at the end of the row where your spot is located.

Gold Wristbands
Your packet includes two additional gold wristbands—these are tickets to the waterpark for your friends and family. These wristbands are for waterpark access only and are not connected to the race in any way.
