Friends of Sleeping Bear Dunes

Friends of Sleeping Bear Dunes is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that supports the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore by providing both volunteers and financial grants to support projects that would otherwise not be funded.

The Friends have a wide range of volunteer opportunities. Our volunteers help to make the visitor experience safer and more enjoyable by clearing trails, rivers and beaches; providing safety information; assisting people with limited mobility as they head to the trails or beach on our track chairs and so much more. Some of our volunteers work with park staff and researchers from various agencies and universities to assist with scientific studies. There are many ways to get involved that help to preserve and protect the Lakeshore.
