Hello, we are the Bay to Beacon race committee that hosts an annual series of road races in Northeastern Michigan. We wanted to speak to you on why we believe donating to the Bay to Beacon race is a great way to make in impact on our community. These races are in a region that is underrepresented in the running community, hosting only a few races annually. We hope that by hosting a race in the region we not only introduce visitors to what the beautiful region has to offer but what the sport of running has to offer to the region. In furthering, the sport of running, we hope to do so in a way that limits our impact on the environment the most we can. That's why we host initiatives such as utilizing reusable cups at all of our races and initializing a zero waste program at all of our events. Not only do we want to limit our impact but we hope to inspire runners to bring these practices to their own races.
Not only do we believe that sharing our passion for running will inspire people to live more active lives but that our events can generate economic benefit to the community. We operate under a 501(c3) non-profit called the Huron Endurance Resources Project that supports 3 charities in Northeastern Michigan. These organizations focus on three missions: supporting mental health, preserving historical and natural areas, and environmental protection. Our series of races donate the vast majority of profits to these causes each year.
We hope you consider donating to the Bay to Beacon and we greatly appreciate anything you contribute. Just know that your donations drive change in Northeastern Michigan.
