Description

The Chickadee Chase: A Virtual 5K for Baby Birds!
Lace up your running shoes (or walking shoes!) and join the Carolina Wildlife Sanctuary for our inaugural Chickadee Chase Virtual 5K – all to benefit our critical Baby Bird Program!

Every spring and summer, our sanctuary is inundated with hundreds of tiny, vulnerable baby birds – orphaned, injured, or displaced from their nests. They arrive in desperate need of specialized care, constant feeding, warmth, and a safe environment to grow. Our dedicated team and volunteers work tirelessly, providing everything from tiny mealworms to round-the-clock feedings, all with the goal of rehabilitating these fragile fledglings and returning them to the wild.

By participating in the Chickadee Chase, you become a vital part of their journey. Your registration and fundraising efforts directly provide the formula, medication, incubators, and expert care these precious baby birds need to survive and thrive.

How it Works:

Run, walk, or even "fly" your 5K (3.1 miles) anytime, anywhere, between 7/7/25 and 7/25/25. Choose your own path – your neighborhood, a local park, or even your treadmill!

Track your distance and time using your favorite running app or device.

Share your success! Post photos and videos of your "Chickadee Chase" on social media using #ChickadeeChase and #CarolinaWildlifeSanctuary.

Receive a special participant medal and/or t-shirt.

Why Your Participation Matters:

Your support ensures that every tiny chirp, every wobbly first flight, and every successful release back into nature is possible. You're giving these baby birds a second chance at life and contributing to the health of our local ecosystems.

Ready to help our baby birds take flight? Register today for the Chickadee Chase and run with a purpose!

Every step you take helps a baby bird take flight!
