The South Carolina Spinal Cord Injury Association (SCSCIA) is a 501 c (3), non-profit organization that serves all of South Carolina. SCSCIA connects and empowers individuals impacted by a spinal cord injury (SCI) to pursue a meaningful and engaged quality of life. Individuals impacted by SCI discover a powerful source of strength by connecting with others who have experienced similar, life-altering injuries. We do this with programs like monthly Breeze Support groups in person & virtual, supplying resources, education, webinars, family support, events, and peer mentoring.

When someone is newly injured, they are at a loss for where to find help. We want to make sure that they know that there is life after a spinal cord injury and that they are not alone. We will supply them with a backpack filled with useful items, helpful tools for someone newly injured with a SCI and resources to help them with life after a spinal cord injury.

Every year in South Carolina we have approximately 350 newly injured individuals with spinal cord injuries.

The races and the donations will help fund our backpack program.
