No! Running isn't for everyone! We have a few other options:

• You can WALK the 5K route. Register for the walk here.
• You can VOLUNTEER to help out at the event. Register to volunteer here.

That's ok! We have a Virtual Race option for anyone who won't be in Roanoke on Thanksgiving. Just register for the Virtual Run or Walk, pick up your race shirt during regular packet pickup hours, and walk or run on Thanksgiving morning wherever you are! If you want to time yourself, you can upload your time to the virtual run results page (instructions will be emailed to you). This way even if you're out of town, you can still Move Your Feet So Others Can Eat!

Packet Pickup will be held at the Rescue Mission of Roanoke, 402 4th St SE, Roanoke, VA 24013

• Saturday, November 22 from 10am - 2pm
• Wednesday, November 26 from 7am - 7pm

We will also have Packet Pickup on race morning at the stage at Elmwood Park from 6:30-8:30am. 

We HIGHLY recommend picking up your packet BEFORE race morning.

Dogs are allowed in the 5K WALK only. To register your four-legged friend, select "Dog on Leash" during the registration process. The fee for dogs is $5 per pooch. Your dog will get a special Drumstick Dash charm for moving their feet!

Parking is available at many garages and surface lots around Downtown Roanoke.

• Goodyear Lot - 515 2nd St - Access via Franklin Rd
• Gale Upper Lot - 312 Church Ave - Access via 3rd St from the North
• Gale Lower Lot - 301 Luck Ave - Access via Luck Ave from the West
• Junior Lot - 303 Campbell Ave - Access via Campbell Ave from the East
• Campbell Garage - 335 Campbell Ave - Access via Campbell Ave only- no Salem Ave access.
• Warehouse Row Lot - Access from the west- take Campbell to left on 1st to left on Salem.
• Knapsack Lot (in front of Amtrak platform) - Access from the west - Take Campbell to left on 1st to right on Salem 

Participants in the TIMED RUN will get a medal and an official time. Participants in the WALK do NOT get a medal.

Chip timing is provided by Mountain Junkies, LLC for the 5K RUN. Participants in the TIMED RUN will get an official time if they wear their bib (number) properly. Please wear your bib on the outermost layer of clothing, on the FRONT of your body. Participants in the WALK do not get a bib, and therefore will not have an official time.
