The Elkhart Lake Triathlons offer a time trial start at the city beach, providing a safe and organized beginning to the race. Here's what you need to know:
Timing: Olympic distance athletes will start at 7:45 a.m., with sprint athletes starting about 30 minutes later. It's essential to stage yourself based on your actual swim time to maintain a smooth flow in the water.
Swim Course: The swim begins at the city beach, approximately 125 meters from the transition area. Athletes are allowed to take their shoes to the swim start. Keep the buoys on your left as you navigate the course, and exit the water at the opposite side of the beach. From there, proceed up the swim chute to the transition area, which is about 75 meters away and uphill on grass.
Wetsuits: Wetsuits are encouraged, as water temperatures typically range in the low 60s for this event. If you need a wetsuit, rentals are available. To reserve a wetsuit, email info@3disciplines.com with your name, size, and type of wetsuit by the Tuesday before the event. Rental cost is $50 cash paid onsite. You will be responsible for any damage to the wetsuit, and a credit card will be required for damages. Pick up your wetsuit at the wetsuit check-in during transition check-in on race morning. Return the wetsuit to a 3Disciplines TEAM member at the post-race food tent for inspection and checkout.
