Fun kid friendly practices for novice and experienced athletes under the guidance of a triathlon coach.  Participants will condition, improve bike handling, refine running technique, practice transitioning from one sport to the next, and learn how to compete safely. 

A parent will need to volunteer for at least 2 bike practices.  Parents can bring their own bike or walk. Parents will get a little exercise in themselves, encourage the kids, and post up at turn around points to monitor and safely direct our kid riders.

Training signup does not include a race entry.  As you sign your child up for training, be sure to sign them up for the race, too.

Participants must be able to ride a bicycle w/o training wheels, confidently turn, travel up and downhill, and hold a current Youth USAT Triathlon membership throughout the training session.  These can be purchased for an additional $10.  Youth lifetime membership is $25.

It is hoped that all practices will go on as scheduled. In the event that practices are cancelled due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, or participants miss practices, all entry registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Friday Evening Packet Pickup with your child is Highly Encouraged.
The Child's Parent Must Be Present to sign for a child's race packet.  Attach bike and helmet stickers from this packet to your child's bicycle at home.  Participants must bring all their gear to transition on race morning.

Other Packet Pickup Options:

Option A:

Parent packet pickup evening before race without child.  Attach bike/helmet stickers at home.  On race morning, arrive at 7:15am with your child to receive body markings and place race items in transition.

Option B:

Pay $10 for the 7:15AM race morning packet pickup through registration.  Arrive at 7:15am on race morning for your child to receive their packet, apply race numbers to their bike, and receive body markings.  Take all equipment to transition.  For the safety of everyone, participants must walk their bike in the park and in transition.  

If your plans change prior to the race in that you are unable to make the Friday Evening Packet Pickup and you need to pick up your packet on race morning, please email the race at least 3 days prior to the event so we may invoice you for the additional fee. If you don't show up to the Friday Evening Packet Pickup and are unable to pay the race morning $10 packet pickup fee with cash or charge, your race entry fee will be forfeited and you child will not be able to participate.  Please plan ahead.

Only Recycle Run for Fun participants can pick up their race bib on race morning and avoid having to pay a race morning packet pickup fee.
