All standard bikes will be allowed including mountain bikes, Cross bikes, Hybrids, gravel and so on. However, no Recumbent bikes or "Bird of Prey" style bikes.

Event: Relay/Volunteer Tri team race
This is a unique relay race we will be trying out for 2021 that will also be able to receive a 50% discount. (You can also elect to do a standard relay meeting in transition for switches at the regular price) Teams will consist of 2-4 members and instead of switching relay members in transition like other races, your switch points will be at various locations where we need volunteers. This will be at locations like the water stations, just inside or outside transition, and along the bike course.
An example of how it may work if you have 2 runners and a biker.
Runner 1 starts the race.
Runner 2 is at the aid station 1 mile out on the course.
Biker is at aid station outside of transition.

Race starts with runner 1 running to aid station at mile 1. Once there, runner 1 takes over the volunteer duty and runner 2 does the next mile back to transition. The biker is at the transition aid station. From there, runner 2 takes over working there and the biker goes into transition to get their bike and do the bike leg. After the bike leg, the biker racks their bike and goes back to the transition aid station. Now runner 2 runs to the first mile aid station and runner 1 does the last mile to the finish.

This race is geared towards the tri teams in and around our area. Use the tri team/club name of your organization.
We will start these relays 5 minutes before the main race. We also plan to recognize each team before the start to help promote your team.

1) How much time do I need to volunteer?
Not much more than if you just planned on racing yourself. We will have specific jobs for you before and after the race based on what leg you are doing. You would just need to be at the race site closer to when parking starts which is 7:00. Also, you will be done most likely before awards.

2) What about volunteer jobs during the event?
This is the fun part. You will get to choose where you volunteer (which is where the exchanges between your relay will happen). This is based on what volunteer spots are remaining. Teams of 4 will get to choose first, followed by teams of 3 then 2. The order from there is based on when the last person on your team registers. So, it is beneficial to get your full team in as soon as possible.
Before the race, I will set up a time to talk to each team captain to go over the locations you will switch and answer any questions.

Will there be awards for the relays?
Of course, we will utilize one category though which will be Co-ed. Teams will need at least one male and one female participant. All male and female teams can still do this event but for awards it will be coed.
