Description
This event celebrates women in sports, and the women often outnumber and out run the men in this race through Indian Head Acres. It has a unique twist in that the women start at 8:00 a.m., and the men start 5 minutes later.
Florida Panhandle Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers
The Florida Panhandle Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (FPSITE) is a dedicated group of transportation engineering professionals who are part of the Florida Puerto Rico District of ITE. Their membership includes approximately 100 professionals within the Panhandle area and a student chapter at FSU-FAMU. They frequently organize educational and social events and are committed to supporting the next generation of engineers. FPSITE has dedicated the month of September as Safety month, and as a part of that effort will join the Women's Distance Festival 5K race to promote pedestrian and bicycle safety and raise awareness.
