Dear Ride on Ryan 2020 Participants,
As I am sure you are aware the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is in full force and affecting many in our society. I have been staying informed of all CDC recommendations and fully support and aim to follow any suggested guidelines. First and foremost is the health of our participants, volunteers, spectators, vendors, as well as my family. In an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19, the CDC is advising against gatherings of 50 people or more for the next eight weeks. The agency called on organizers to cancel or postpone such events. After much collaboration with my family, we have decided to cancel the Ride On Ryan Sprint Triathlon 2020 and resume the race in 2021. The uncertainty of this situation makes it very difficult to decide when and how to postpone, once again everyone’s health is our first concern.
My family and I have decided to allow current participants to choose whether to defer their registration to 2021 or to be reimbursed. Please select your option below. I need to put a timeline on this, so I need all responses by April 30, 2020.
Lastly, I want to thank each one of you for your intended participation, your past participation, and your future participation. My family and I began this race to have something to look forward to each year to celebrate my late brother, Ryan Williams, as well as to inspire individuals to live life to the fullest as he did. The race has far exceeded our expectations, it has grown and gotten better each year. Everyone involved walks away feeling good and inspired. We have been able to pay all cost and still have money left over to donate to our local YMCA. The proceeds have helped many children join in on YMCA activities. I have full intentions to continue this race in 2021 and have no doubt that it will be the best ever! We have so much time to plan and train.
Keep an eye on the Ride On Ryan Facebook page for updates and inspiration, you can also check into our website at RideOnRyan.com.
We will see you in 2021! I have a feeling it will be our best race yet!!!!
Stay safe, be well, and as Ryan would say “PURA VIDA”!
With much love,
Stacie Williams New
